Perfect Sinewaves
Clean, Perfect Sinewaves, Why do they
Matter?
Computers and most equipment are designed for an input of 120VAC
(in the US) in the form of a clean, perfect Sinewave. Dirty Sinewaves
happen every day in the form of Power Pollution, also known as spikes,
surges, noise, brownouts, etc. These pollutants wear and tear at
computer components and critical equipment. They can cause inaccurate
test results, lead to hardware failures and erode business profits.
The way to prevent dirty sinewaves or power pollution effecting
your equipment is to clean up the input power. A Clary Continuous
Power Supply (the next generation of UPS's) actually regenerates
the input power to create a perfect, clean, digital controlled precision
sinewave, unlike Offline or Ferro UPS's.
Most UPS are only designed to protect during blackouts, and some
of the more advanced models have limited brownout protection. Because
Offline, Ferrups, or Line Interactive UPS do not actually regenerate
the input power to create a clean output Sinewave, the cleanliness
of their output sinewave varies depends on the quality of the input
power.
Continual Power Systems, in addition to providing a regenerated
digital controlled rock solid 120VAC, prevents the polluting of
the input power for other users without power protection through
power factor correction. Power factor correction cleans the input
power so the harmonic currents and distortion caused by today's
high-tech loads do not effect other equipment using the same power.
Power Factor correction cleans the current by reducing the high
peak input currents preventing voltage sags, overheated wiring,
and even reduces utility bills. By correcting the input current,
a Continuous Power Supply goes beyond protecting their load, to
also help other equipment that uses the same input power, unlike
most UPS's.
